taylor pendleton

Hello! My name is Taylor and I am a 25-year-old Las Vegas native enjoying my current home at the base of the majestic Wasatch mountains in Salt Lake City, Utah. I am an avid outdoor enthusiast and spend most of my free time swimming, hiking, and trail running. Connecting with other people and making the world better by being a good person is my priority in life (and having fun along the way). Visually, photographs have always spoken to me, which ultimately led me to this career. What truly keeps me doing this work is the connections I make with my clients. I get to make friends and then take their picture for a living! Are you kidding? It’s the best.

Hey, hey, hey! My name is Summer Rae! I've spent my life bouncing between the mountains of Utah and the beaches of Southern California. I live for sunshine and the outdoors. Some of my favorite things are lounging by the pool and on the beach, camping and riding my beach cruiser. I am married to a goofball,Jeff, who has the most luscious locks (low key very jealous). I feel unbelievably blessed to have a career in photography. I've had a camera in my hand my whole life. The biggest thing that I love about photography is that there are so many things that inspire me (especially people) and to be able to capture that? Priceless.

Anyone! The only requirement we have is that attendees must shoot with a DSLR camera. All are welcome to attend whether you’ve never shot a couple in your life or you’ve dabbled in the field. There is something for everyone at The Luminance Workshop.

+ what will I learn?

The three “classrooms” provided at the workshop are sit-down sessions, something that loosely resembles a school classroom where Taylor and Summer will teach attendees about the scheduled topic. Each classroom session ends with a Q + A, so you can ask your burning questions, get clarification, and dig deeper where you’d like. (We will provide Luminance journals where you can take notes, although you are welcome to take notes however you’d like.) These classroom sessions are highly informative and where your investment really pays off. You will learn nearly everything Summer and Taylor know about couples photography, which collectively is quite a bit. The topics covered in the classroom sessions are:

  • Preparing for a shoot and connecting with clients

  • Posing couples and getting raw, real emotion out of them

  • Post-production (workflow and editing)

  • Business strategies
